Keiki Kaukau

When April Hail's oldest keiki was a toddler, he loooved playing with pretend food toys… realizing there were no food toys representing the unique and beloved flavors of Hawai’i. She set out to make them herself and that's howThe Original Keiki Kaukau Play Food Set was born!

Keiki Kaukau now has over 30 original toys, books, and games celebrating the unique beauty and diversity of modern Hawai’i!

“I hope our products spark joy, recognition, and curiosity in the keiki who play with them, as well as their adult caregivers… Our Hawaii ohana has roots all over, like a beautiful Banyan tree; many diverse, ‘ono flavors make one special family.” This message is really the heart of keiki Kaukau - "our differences make us stronger."

Since founding Keiki Kaukau in 2019, they've contributed to dozens of local charities through monetary and in-kind donations. Their primary giving partner is The Hawai‘i Food Bank, through which they've been able to donate over 50K individual meals to community members in need. Other recipients include Family Promise of Hawai‘i, Aloha Diaper Bank, and Manoa Elementary School. They've also offered free or discounted products to early childhood and community institutions.
